    7.62 For Liberty

Someday a two story brick house on the bluffs over looking the Missouri River in the east-central region of the Show Me.  Just me, a small piece of farmland, my truck and my rifles.  Peace and quiet.

That and I might as well play into that whole "right wing soldiers are terrorist crackpots" mentality of the Ivy League government.  The jerks who want to ban gun don't know how to fire them, clean them, use them, handle them or even take apart and rebuild a simple handgun.  They really need to learn about the things they claim to be experts on.  The draconian rules that are in place in the military and civilian shooting ranges would shock most people.  And the biggest supporters of the harsh rules and regulations are the gun owners and shooters themselves.  We don't want retards or street gangs being armed.  But responsible, sane people should have that freedom to have weapons and ammunition on their person and property.

In fact I believe it to be immoral if one has the mental, physical and economic means to arm themselves and they don't.  If you have that knowledge to carry and if need be shoot a weapon in the defense of life and property you must carry out that moral obligation to do so.  I have guns at work, and conceal and carry on my off time.  To not carry and cede all power to the criminal with me doing nothing, degrades my morality to the criminals.  Good men must do nothing...

Many in America see a rise in militarism.  Well duh.  You've left the military to itself, get everything it wants, and the second you demand reform you're all shut down with 'support the troops' bullshit.  Most politicians never were in the military or even ROTC.  So they don't know anything about it much less how to control it.  For that is the job of the politicians, to be the civilian overlords of the armed services.  The military is more powerful than her masters and that is a dangerous thing.  "We're here to help."  Always helping...

Our sole job is to kill people and break things from homes to cities to nations.  There is no helping involved anywhere.  Do not let that run your nation if you desire liberty.  The oath to defend the Constitution required our personal ceding of all our individual constitutional rights.

The lesson here is:  know what you need to defend and what you need to fight.  Studying your enemies from dietary habits to history to contemporary politics is a must.  Saying "they hate America and freedom" is a gross, immoral copout to avoid the very overdue and needed discussion about geopolitics particularly about the empire that these short time ago colonies built around the world.
